Personalmente credo sia un disastro: solo due serie negli scorsi sei mesi ha guadagnato qualche lettore ed entrambe sono Vertigo e non vendono poi molte copie (anche perchè il loro mercato è decisamente diverso da quello abituale).

Anche nel paragone con i dati di un anno fa la situazione è tutto fuorchè rosea. Quattro serie hanno il segno positivo: Justice Society of America (anche se con un incremento più che positivo), Looney Tunes (che è una serie per bambini il cui mercato, di nuovo, è diverso da quello dal quale provengono questi dati), Fables (vedi sopra), Batman (con un incremento del 3 per cento).

Solo nel paragone con i dati di due anni fa la situazione migliora, con rilanci anche di serie importanti (Wonder Woman su tutte). Ma sono ancora troppe le serie con un segno negativo anche pesante, nonostante lo One Year Later di un anno fa.

In questi confronti la situazione appare più rosea per la DC. Molte serie, anche famose, hanno un deciso segno positivo.
Tutto rose e fiori (segni negativi a parte)?
Neanche per idea.
Quello che potrebbe sfuggire visualizzando i dati in questa forma è che le vendite della DC di tre e quattro anni fa erano semplicemente disastrose. Nel Maggio 2004 solo 10 albi DC erano presenti nella top 30, corrispondenti a solo otto effettive testate.
Nel 2003 poi la situazione era ben peggiore, con solo 4 albi nella top 20 e solo 9 nella top 30. Addirittura solo 12 nella top 40 e persino solo 16 nella top 50.
Un disastro completo.
Per questo un confronto con quel periodo non può che essere fuorviante in positivo per la DC.
Anzi.
A ben guardare appare assai inquietante l'esistenza di una decina di serie che presentano un segno negativo altre il 20%. Sommate queste preoccupazioni con i pessimi dati a breve termine, direi che la DC, allo stato attuale delle cose, è in caduta libera da un punto di vista meramente commerciale.

Fortunatamente all'orizzonte arrivano nuovi eventi e nuovi rilanci, come quello di Flash, che potrebbero risollevare le sorti della seconda casa editrice americana.
